Business Development Manager

We are excited to be recruiting on behalf of our partner, a global transportation and logistics provider specializing in Air & Ocean freight solutions. With extensive expertise handling time-sensitive and high-value cargo across diverse industries, including aerospace, automotive, technology, and pharmaceuticals, our partner is dedicated to delivering tailor-made logistics services to clients worldwide. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in the U.S. and drive continued growth across multiple verticals.

New Business Acquisition

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand our partner’s Air & Ocean freight services throughout the United States.
  • Engage potential clients via cold calling, networking, and targeted outreach to generate leads and close deals.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop strong, sustainable relationships with prospective and existing clients, acting as a trusted logistics advisor.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their unique shipping requirements and propose cost-effective, value-added solutions.

Strategic Planning & Market Analysis

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market shifts to uncover potential growth opportunities.
  • Provide regular market intelligence to senior management to inform and refine business development strategies.

Proposal Development & Negotiation

  • Create compelling proposals and presentations tailored to each client’s specific needs.
  • Lead negotiations, ensuring commercial terms align with both client requirements and our partner’s business objectives.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work alongside internal operations, customer service, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of new client shipments and ongoing account management.
  • Assist in devising logistics solutions that integrate Air, Ocean, and ancillary services like customs brokerage.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Set and track sales targets, preparing regular performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Adjust business development approaches as needed to ensure KPIs and revenue goals are met or exceeded.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Successful experience in sales or business development within the Air & Ocean freight forwarding industry
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and nurture long-term client partnerships in a fast-paced logistics environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM software; familiarity with freight management systems is a plus.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate complex logistics solutions effectively.
  • A proactive mindset and a passion for meeting and surpassing sales targets.
