The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Commercial Leader to lead our partner’s operations in Mexico City. This pivotal role is focused on steering the global freight forwarding business, with a particular emphasis on building key trade lanes and fostering long-term client relationships. As the driving force behind the Mexico City operations, you will be instrumental in shaping commercial strategies and ensuring their success in this dynamic market.

Key Responsibilities:

Market and Business Expansion:

  • Define and implement a commercial strategy to grow our partner’s international freight forwarding presence.
  • Develop trade lanes with strategic regions, including North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Build relationships with industry leaders and partners to position our partner as a preferred logistics provider in Mexico.

Sales and Client Development:

  • Lead efforts to secure and retain key clients, focusing on profitable and sustainable partnerships.
  • Collaborate with global teams to create innovative freight solutions that address diverse client needs.
  • Drive the commercial team’s sales strategy to maximise revenue and achieve growth targets.

Operational Oversight:

  • Ensure seamless execution of air and ocean shipments by coordinating with operations and procurement teams.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, international trade regulations, and customs requirements to guide decision-making.
  • Maintain high service standards and address operational challenges promptly.

Leadership and Financial Management:

  • Recruit, train, and inspire a high-performing team aligned with our partner’s values and goals.
  • Manage and monitor budgets, providing actionable insights to senior leadership to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence throughout the organisation.

What We’re Looking For:

  • In-depth expertise in air and ocean freight forwarding, with a track record of building international trade lanes.
  • Proven experience leading commercial and operational strategies in the Mexican market.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and client relationship skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trade regulations, customs processes, and industry trends.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (both written and spoken) is required.
  • A results-oriented professional with exceptional financial acumen and a collaborative mindset.
